Weldplast S2 plastic extruder from LEISTER
Input from plastics fabricators has helped create new functionality and design standards in the latest Leister Weldplast S2 plastic extruder from Welwyn Tool Group.
This small, power-packed tool extrudes up to 2.5kg of welding material per hour and is aimed at polypropylene and polyethylene fabricators producing tanks, drums and pipework for the water, processing and chemical sectors.
Conforming to DVS standards, the S2 features an integral, maintenance-free air blower and a multi-functional electronic display for precise temperature settings: pre-programmed extrudate and air flow temperatures are automatically configured simply by scrolling the menu to the required welding material.
The tool also has a double-sided twist-free 3 or 4mm welding rod feeder, a low-noise drive mechanism and a 360-deg. rotating welding shoe for working in awkward spaces.At 450mm long and weighing 5.8kg, the new S2 effectively closes the Leister product gap betwen the smaller Weldmax tool, which extrudes up to 0.8kg/hr, and the larger Weldplast S4 and EC4, capable of up to 4kg/hr.
