Use of Somero’s SXP Laser Screed helped sub-contractor Romex complete a major flooring project at a massive industrial park near Moscow ahead of other similar contracts. While four other subcontractors each completed 700m2 of concrete floor by hand per shift, Romex completed from 1600 to 3300m2/shift with the SXP14 and their skilled workforce. The 14ft screed head on the SXP includes a plough and auger that cuts the concrete to level, with laser guidance controlling the grade ten times a second. It then compacts it with a vibrating beam. “The speed and quality of the floors we produced with the SXL Laser Screed determined our selection as the subcontractor for Phase 11,” said Romex general director Vladislav Kurakin. “If all goes as planned we will complete the job within three or four months at a rate of 3000m2 a day. I know that the floors produced with the Laser Screed are not only done faster, but with a consistent high quality not affected by worker fatigue.” The overall industrial site, 11km outside Moscow, covers 650 acres, with over 1,000,000m2 of Class A warehouse space housed in a total of 16 buildings
