Multi-coupling connectors save time and improve safety
Stäubli, the specialists in connection solutions, have a comprehensive range of connectors for all fluids, gases and electrical applications; any number of these can be located on the same multi-coupling plate to provide quick and simultaneous connection of all services e.g. air, water, hydraulics, electrics and data. This is the Stäubli MCS range of tailor made multi-couplings.
Assembling an array of quick release connectors onto a single multi-coupling plate can often produce the most significant single improvement in changeover times for applications as diverse as engine test beds, rolling stock bogies, tool changers and injection moulding machines.
Experienced Stäubli engineers review the requirements of each application to determine the precise specification for the multi-coupling plate, taking into account parameters such as fluid type, pressure and temperature as well as connecting frequency and environmental constraints.
From their wide range of connectors, Stäubli will design and manufacture a specific multi-coupling solution, including modular quick release couplings and electrical connectors, guiding and centring components as well as connection and locking systems.
The use of multi-couplings brings an additional safety benefit. Connection can only be made in one position, eliminating any risk of circuit inversion or mis-connection. Connection of the plates can be either manual or automatic as required and materials are selected to suit the fluids or gases involved.
