Targeted primarily at applications in food and beverage production, materials handling, textiles, printing, rubber and plastics, the power range of the ABB general machinery drive has been extended to 22kW. The drives are now rated from 0.37 to 22kW three-phase 400V; 0.37 to 11kW threephase 230V; and 0.37 to 2.2kW single-phase 230V. Dimensions span 202 x 70 x 161mm up to 202 x 260 x 169mm.
Their advanced functionality includes unpowered drive configuration, sequence programming and simple installation and integration. They can be programmed with a special FlashDrop tool while still in the box, a real timesaver for OEMs who can easily copy parameters between two drives or between a PC and a drive: no power connection to the drive is needed. Two control panel options offer different levels of support according to requirements: the more advanced supports 19 languages.
The drives protect themselves when power is connected to the motor terminals: the I/Os are protected against short circuits and the drive is also protected against missing supply phases.
