Aisle-Master LPG trucks in operation at Magners
Magners' Co Tipperary bottling plant and finished goods warehouse has purchased 8 LPG powered Aisle-Masters, which has resulted in a 50% increase in storage space. Aisle widths with the old counterbalance forklifts were 4m, but the introduction of a new warehouse management system based on the Aisle-Masters, racking and much narrower narrow aisle widths has made the increased storage space possible.
The Aisle-Masters have also saved the company money as there is now no need to buy extra storage space.
The trucks’ versatility enables them to be used throughout the handling process, from unloading pallets of empty bottles through to reloading 80 to 100 lorry loads a day with pallets of filled bottles for distribution to customers. Magners’ three bottling plants can each fill 55,000 bottles an hour, and the three warehouses have a total of 28,000 pallet spaces. These volumes require pretty much non-stop operation, provided by the LPG powered Aisle-Masters.
