Still Keeps Carbon Plant Production Moving

Materials handling needs at Chemviron Carbon’s plant near Wigan are being met by Still Materials Handling.equipment. CC produces over 100 activated carbon and emission control products for industries ranging from food and drink to print, packaging and engineering. Working within the plant’s racking is a Still FM 14 reach truck, while raw materials are handled by an R70-25 LPG counterbalance truck. The FM’s driver compartment fully adjusts to suit all operator physiques, with ergonomic controls placed comfortably within reach. Travel direction and all hydraulic functions are regulated by just two valve levers with pre-selector switches, while the on-demand, electromechanical servo steering gives fatigue-free operation. The electric drive of the R70-25 eliminates transmission power losses. Truck acceleration and braking characteristics can each be pre-selected by the driver through five drive programs, and the wear-free multi-disc brake reduces overall maintenance costs.
