Hoerbiger-Origa has now extended its BHD series of modular, belt-driven linear actuators for heavy-duty applications with a new small size 20mm unit. Offering the advantages of a sealed mechanism and fit-and-forget installation, the BHD incorporates a precision recirculating ball bearing rail that gives it a load bearing capacity of two tonnes, suiting it to the most demanding applications.
Heavy-duty BHD development was driven by the needs of users for high load requirements in tight spaces. The low profile is achieved by mounting the belt pulleys with vertical axes rather than horizontal, so that the two runs of the bell loop are sideby- side instead of one above the other. The extruded housing is strong enough to be used as a structural machine element in many cases, absorbing any static loads, including side and bending forces. The belt is made of a high-performance polyurethane reinforced with stainless steel and is supplied in 16, 20, 25 or 40mm widths depending on the size of the BHD unit.
