New compressed air technology from Tom Parker

A new compressed air technology called the Exhausted Air Recycling System (E.A.R.S.) is said to be able to redefine the production of compressed air and produce substantial benefits including reduced energy costs, lower carbon emissions, increased productivity and improved workplace health and safety.

The E.A.R.S. system provides a closed loop between the air compressor and the air tool by capturing the exhausted air and returning it to the E.A.R.S. manifold fitted to the compressor. In fact this system can be installed for the use of any type of pneumatic product from which exhausted air can be captured. The closed-loop system generates more useable compressed air with less energy, which is a real innovation in pneumatic techno-logy. The system, available in the UK from Tom Parker, was first released in Australia with remarkable results and has already received several awards.

Whether using an E.A.R.S. compressor with E.A.R.S. tooling, or a retrofit kit for existing tools and compressors, the benefits of using this new system are said to be immediate, although by purchasing a smaller E.A.R.S. compressor from the start, power consumption can be greatly reduced. This is due to the re-circulating exhausted air allowing the compressor to work much less to generate and maintain the pressure needed. With E.A.R.S.

technology, an 11 kW compressor can generate the same air volume as a conventionally operated 18.5kW compressor, says Parker.
