Together with mods to the front wheels and batteries, it needed the help of four huge electric motors driving the rear wheels to give it the power needed to take on the Ford in a head-to-head race.
Lynch Motor Company supplied the motors. Brammer worked with LMC and an automotive expert from Exeter University to redesign the back axle of the car, and supplied Gates Polychain drive belts and pulleys to transmit the power from the motors to the axle. And having been turned into a fast and furious remote-controlled vehicle, the G-Wiz stormed past the post to take the flag — before coming an explosive conclusion!
