Micromotoring - EMS

New dc micromotors from FTB, combine an outstanding powervolume ratio with small housing length. Available from Electro Mechanical Systems, the motors achieve constant torque up to 3mNm and speeds up to 10,000 rpm, or with attached spur gearheads, the constant torque can be increased up to 100mNm. Low overall height is achieved by the ironless rotor construction, comprising three flat oval coils. The rotor revolves with minimal moment of inertia in an axially aligned neodymium magnetic field, without cogging or iron loss. Precious metal commutation with low transition resistances results in very low starting voltages making these motors particularly suitable for battery operation in portable devices.
