The reliability, speed and performance of Linx Printing Technology’s Linx 6900 has enabled traceability information to be applied to film used with a popular nappy wrapping system. Use of special fastdrying ink is producing excellent results on the high-speed lines of Sangenic, which produces the nappy disposal system for the Tommy Tippee brand.
Sangenic wanted to mark the end of of the barrier film in the cassettes to help customers identify where to start dispen sing it, while at the same time adding batch and time details to the film to aid traceability throughout manufacturing and distribution operations.
“High-speed printing, machine reliability, good adhesion to the film and fast ink drying were critical factors in the project,” said Sangenic Engineering Manager Geoff Lomax.
“We looked at several options and the Linx 6900 was the easiest to use and most robust in operation.”
A trial machine was integrated into Sangenic’s production line and it met all the company’s requirements. It now runs 24 hours a day, five days a week.
The coder prints a 10mm high block mark, plus batch time and date code, onto the films using Linx Black plastic-film ink 1016.
