Linear feeder moves hard to handle products quickly

Riley Automation has introduced the new F-T02 Linear Vibratory Feeder for hard to handle products.

With over 50 years experience in the design and manufacture of materials handling systems, Riley Automation continues to develop innovative solutions for a wide range of product handling and parts feeding applications.

Vibratory feeding systems are an integral part of many manufacturing processes, so much so that we often tend to take them for granted (especially when they are being used to transport components or products which are solid, robust and relatively easy to feed).

There are many applications, however, where the products are not so forgiving; this can often present a number of problems, including resistance to feeding and low output. When we pick up our pre-packed bag of mixed salad leaves in the supermarket we give little, if any, thought as to how the product was packaged. This type of salad/leaf product can be difficult to feed and separate, which makes it an excellent example of where the F-T02 can make the packaging process more efficient and reliable.

The system operates at high amplitude and can maintain a high stroke and product travel speed, even when operating with a significant head-load. Depending on the product being processed, the system has a capacity of up to 10T/hr. The benefits of this new feeder can be realised across a wide range of applications and industries.

Other products that will benefit from the performance capabilities of the F-T02 include sticky products and even dense bulk product. Riley Automation material-handling solutions are tailor made for each individual application. Troughs are designed and manufactured in-house and vary depending on the product to be handled. The trough is then matched to the most appropriate drive unit for the application under consideration, ensuring optimum performance when used in production.

The units are not only robust and reliable but require only minimal maintenance. Options are also available to make the systems dustproof and they can be sealed for use in areas where wash-down is required.
