Rotaflow supplies loading arms to David Brown Pumps
Asked to assist in improving efficiency in the small test bed area of David Brown Pumps Limited, Rotaflow supplied a series of 3 Loading Arms each incorporating 2 swivels that satisfied the requirement for connecting to pumps on test. The Loading Arm assembly was designed with one 6” swivel and one 4” swivel giving 360 degree rotation. To assist the operator, the Loading Arm assembly terminated at head height both allowing for easy accessibility and very importantly making it a safe system to use.
The resultant assembly increased the options for setting up pumps on the Test Bed and for leaving the units in place after a works test to await the ‘Witness Test’. The pipework and hoses now do not interfere with the suction pipework. The safety aspect has been greatly improved in that the discharge manifold valves can now be actuated remotely, eliminating local operation which was hazardous due to their remote location. Having one flexible hose connected between pump and Swivel Joint has meant a considerable saving in fitting time. Positioning of the pump on test does not require the same accuracy as before therefore speeding up the operation.
